Natural Diamond Council Announcement

I’m thrilled to announce that The Natural Diamond Council, in partnership with Lorraine Schwartz, has selected me as a winner of their groundbreaking Emerging Designers Diamond Initiative.  Created to support Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) jewelry designers, this year-long program is an important step in diversifying the often exclusive diamond industry.

This initiative will not only enable me to work with the world’s seven largest diamond mining companies, but will also offer educational opportunities for me to learn more about the earth’s oldest gemstone.  I look forward to sharing details of this fascinating stone with you, and having you join me on this exciting journey.

As many of you may know, I have long wanted to design using natural diamonds.  This initiative will enable me to follow up our first diamond capsule collection with a larger one that continues my determination to answer social inequality with quality, whether it is in beautiful materials or impactful actions.

I hope that with the high visibility platform that The Natural Diamond Council provides, and the connections that Lorraine Schwartz has offered to be generous with, more jewelry designers of color will decide to join the industry and will find a support and advocacy within it. I firmly believe that when the creative talent of every community is recognized and given equal access to information and resources we can all be enriched.
